Through a palette of earthy colors – ochres, reds, yellows, whites, and grays – the artist invites the viewer to explore a world where symbolism and connection to nature play a central role. The concentric circles, a key element of the composition, can be interpreted as universal symbols evoking gathering places, the cycles of life, or spiritual points of connection. The use of dot patterns conveys a sense of continuity and movement, emphasizing the interconnection between natural and human elements. These paintings, rich in both symbolism and emotion, invite contemplation.
The interest sparked by the first work exhibited in Los Angeles from the “Pebbles” serie, and the ongoing work on the “Electric Moons” serie, has focused the artist’s attention on California, bringing back memories of a family trip that left a lasting impression about twelve years ago. This journey, which was itinerant, took his small group into Death Valley. The vastness of the landscape, its unique atmosphere, and its harmony of colors resurfaced as a spontaneous vision of the circular works in this series. The colors of the Mojave Desert, as they are engraved in the artist’s memory and in his European representation of Native American chromatic palettes, are woven into the dot and concentric circle patterns created after his return from Oceania. The influences blend and juxtapose in tones that are both natural and warm, always in the artist’s hypnotic and immersive style.
